TURNING IT OVER TO THE OWNER

We are in the process of turning the theater
over to the owner. Our contract work consists
of finishing the painting, carpet, ceramic tile
cabinet installation and punch list.
The owner venders are installing seats,screens
curtains, TV monitors and snack bar.
I will be heading home by the end of June.

EASTER

I am going home for Easter weekend, this will
be my 3rd weekend home this year. I am really
looking forward to working on the west coast.


Progress made; we have framed and poured
5 out of 8 houses, the millwork has started,
the marque is ready for the sign contractor.
The walkin coolers are being set, owner furnished
owner installed items start in May.

WATERPROOFING ISSUES

We are experiencing issues waterproofing our footers on the addition. We have not had 3 days in a row without rain or snow this spring. This needs to be done so we can backfill the footers. After backfilling the footers the mason and stucco contractors have a months worth of work. I posted pictures of us putting a tent over the footers, underneath the plastic are 3 propane heaters

4-5-11

The finish crews start Monday 4/11/11. Painting, ceramic tile,wall carpet and handrails. The following week we have kitchen equipment and millwork. This project is winding down but not soon enough for me. 59 days until we turn it over to the owner.

MOTHER NATURE

I started at 5am this morning and as I was
making coffee it started snowing. The
weather in Pa. is like a ping pong ball.
Friday it was 75 degrees and 5 days
later it is snowing. At least it is the
end of March and better weather
should be on its way.

This project has been very challenging,
from the underground seating to not
having a mezzanine. Also we have lost
12 days to ice & snow and been rained
out 15 times on the exterior work.
Fortunately our client added 3 weeks
to our schedule and we now will turn
over the project 6/3/11 to the owner.

HALFWAY

We are now halfway thru the project. Things
are really picking up and it is almost March.
I will be happy when winter ends. It was 12
degrees @ 5am this morning.

Right now we have 12 subcontractors on site
with 60 men working. It is a small building
to have so many people and equipment moving
around the site.

BREAK IN THE WEATHER

We are finally getting a break from
mother nature with temp's in the
50's this coming week. I will take
it after losing 9 work days to ice
and snow since Christmas.

Steel erection will be complete
on the addition this week,framing
in the bar area and houses 1 & 2
are nearly complete. The HVAC
is over 50% complete. Things
are moving along nicely.

JANUARY 29

I thought I should give a few details about the
project. The job consist of a 26k square feet
building in a high end devolopment, we are
adding 10k sq.ft. for a total of 36k sq.ft.

The original building was built for future use
with only a shell (exterior walls, roof, floor)
however it was constructed for retail not a
cinema. Because of this we have to demo the
entire back wall and 90% of the concrete
floor.

We have had many delays and are about 15 days
behind schedule, but we will make our mid May
deadline.

DINNER THEATER IN PA.

I have started building a theater that serves food
and drinks 20 miles from Philadelphia. The weather
here is brutal,wind chill this morning 7 degrees. 8 inches
of snow fell yesterday and with 30 MPH winds the snow
drifts are 2+ feet. I will be adding posts and pictures as
we go.
Also I have given notice to my company that I am leaving
after I complete this project. I plan on staying in the cinema
construction buisiness either for another company closer to
home or going into buisiness for myself. I will keep everybody
posted.
